confession is good for the soul

Friday, October 26, 2012

So I am going to make one here and now. I eat in my car when I drive sometimes!!!!
I know this is not smart, and probably not too healthy. But I do track all that I eat no matter where it is eaten. This is not closet-like eating, nor is it all junk food. It is more a matter of convenience and saving time. I often get so busy in the early morning that I run out of time for breakfast, so I eat it on the way to work, a peanut butter bread or an apple or something similar. This is nonetheless a very bad habit, and I intend to break it! And as long as I am confessing, I might as well say that I drink too much diet soda too. But it goes so well with peanut butter!
SO, this is what I am going to do: no more eating in the car, and I am going to severely limit my diet soda intake to no more than one every other day! There I said it - so that makes it so!
Maybe it is this kind of stupid behavior that has me at a plateau. We'll see!

I have to hide my diet soda behind my green tea...lol...it works though! I have to work hard to get that soda and by the time I get it...I'm like, naaahhhh. I can relate with the soda though!

emoticon I am a convert(-ing)ed grazer. For the last 4 years or so, I have made it a point to eat only sitting at the table, and it is definitely a change that I am pleased with. It was a tough habit for me to break, especially the eating in the car!! It was one of the first goals I made for myself when I signed on with SP, and I definitely see a difference in the total volume of food I eat when I stick to it. When I make myself sit down properly to eat something, there is less chance for the mindless munching that makes me miserable. emoticon

Heyyy....try ice water with peanut butter. I love it! The water "cleanses my palate" between bites and helps me eat it slowly and enjoy every taste.
