Still going strong!

Friday, October 26, 2012

Hope all is well with everyone today. Well, I do have to say that I'm pretty proud of myself after this weekend. This past weekend, I had travelled with a my friend down to Kentucky to have a girl's weekend. I had been worried about how well I was going to be able to stick to my guns with eating and exercise over the weekend.
I managed to make healthy choices most of the time when we were eating at restaurants, I drank plenty of water, had the odd food splurge, AND I tracked everything every day. I believe that this was key in my success for the weekend. I didn't walk as much as I would have liked, and I certainly didn't go at the pace that I normally do (my friend has major back issues and just can't walk very fast at all), but I did try some pilates on the spark videos in the evening when we were in our hotel room watching TV. I couldn't believe just how intense on the abs those exercises can be. When I weighed myself this week, I had dropped a pound and a half, so I'm very happy! Tracking definitely does pay off!
At the beginning of the week though, I don't know whether it was all the driving I had done (10 hrs each way and in between as well), or the change of the weather (nasty cold, rainy, gloomy weather), or a combination of them both, but my energy was sapped. I even went to bed at 8:30 pm a couple of nights ago. It took all I had just to walk the dogs on those days. I kept up with it though, because even if I wasn't going at the maximum level that I could normally handle, AT LEAST I WAS MOVING. That is what is important.
That's it for now. Keep Sparkin'! emoticon
