Naturopath Visit #2.5

Friday, October 26, 2012

Ok so I'm not due to see my naturopath again until Tuesday of next week but a week ago I started getting some major back pain. I hadn't had a problem before but it's so painful now that I find walking difficult and painful. So last night I called my naturopath and he saw for some acupuncture to relieve the pain, we'll be going over my stomach and other issues on my regular appointment next week.

It was my first time having acupuncture ^_^ He had me lie on my side on his table because he said laying on my stomach could cause extra pressure on the lumbar region, it;s my low back that's been hurting.

He put needles in my low back and used that electro stim thingy lol. It felt really weird and was a bit painful but he said he could turn it down if I wanted and I said it's fine. It was only a little painful lol. He also put needles in my lower leg, behind my knee and one on the front of my leg below my knee. He also put one in my upper lip, that one was a bit painful going in lol, but not too bad.

He also had this device and he had me hold on to a metal cylinder and the other end he put in my ear. It was apparently to measure electrical currents and whatnot. He said the only active part was the spot that indicated something wrong in the lower back area. It was actually really cool ^_^ Then he put this needle in my ear in the same spot, and its still there. It's really tiny, like only a few mm in length, in American I guess that would be somewhere around 1/16" It has a small flat head, it kind of looks like a very tiny tack lol. He said it would come out on its own in a few days. He then gave me a little magnet and said I could rub the magnet on the pin in my ear for a few minutes when my back is hurting. It was a very interesting visit lol.

I'll be seeing my chiropractor tonight for an actual assessment of my back and an adjustment. But it was worth it to go. It still hurts quite a bit, and I limp when walking still but there is a noticeable improvement.

I have had accupuncture many times and never had the magnetic field therapy you got! That is so cool! I hope you find relief.

I'm glad you were able to find a little bit of relief. Take things easy and let the back heal. I find the field of acupuncture very interesting. The body is an amazing thing, isn't it?!
