Friday night and results of bone scan

Friday, October 26, 2012

I went to the doctor this morning. I have Bursitis in both hips. The right hip is the worst and I will be having a cortisone injection in that hip first. This will be done during an ultrasound and I am waiting on the nurse to phone me with an appointment time.

I also have to make an appointment with the surgeon who did my previous back surgery for his opinion on my back.

The good news is that while there is some arthritis in both hips, I will not need hip replacements. So that is a positive.

At the moment I am still taking my pain killers and have to listen to my body as to what I can and can't do. I have overdone it today - but enjoyed myself. I have my youngest daughter down from Sydney with her partner and 2 dogs - and we have cooked and shopped and had a lovely BBQ this evening. My youngest son is staying over too with his 2 children, so it is very nice.

The upside of today is that I have done over 11,000 steps, which I wonderful for me. The downside is that I am in a lot of pain ... well was, then the tablets kicked in.

I have watched what I have eaten today and no wine tonight - another positive!

We have great grand daughter's baptism tomorrow and a BBQ lunch, then DD is having friends up for a BBQ dinner at our house tomorrow night. All happening. She is watching what she eats and is exercising so we are have healthy choices!

So that's me for the moment - exercise when I can, and rest when I am sore. Watch what I put in my mouth.

Sorry about the bursitis in both hips. Bursitis is darn hard to heal, it takes a very long time in my experience. But it does heal!

On the positive side, congratulations on the weight loss! You're doing very well!

Well, that is both good and bad news huh!? No surgery anyway, and you are still keeping up on the self care which is great. Hope you manage to get over the pain and the shot helps .... I know sometimes they can leave some pain for a few days too, so hang onto those painkillers!
All the best for your continued recovery and a pain free future!!

happy the pain killers are helping you and you were able to get in all your steps. That is FABULOUS. Very nice to have your kids there visiting and spending time with you and sounds like you really have enjoyed yourself. It is helpful to have dd watching her food choices too and makes it fun to do this together. Hope you are having a good sleep now. Morning here and must get moving, lots to do. I am glad I was able to check your blog and see you made out. DO take care yourself. HUGS, Irish Ei emoticon emoticon
