The Best Fat Burning Advice
-time of day doesn't matter
-you burn more fat when you exercise at higher intensity
-include strength training 2 or 3 times a week
Learn to Love Strength Training
benefits include:
-elevates metabolism
-muscle burns more calories
-counteracts depression
-reduces sleep difficulties
High Intensity Interval Training
-increases calorie burn because recovery is longer
-burns more fat
-decreases muscle loss
-requires max effort for brief spurts followed by a recovery period
What to Eat Pre-Workout
-16-20 oz water 1-2 hours before
-doesn't use energy from food you've eaten recently so exercising on an empty stomach is ok unless low blood sugar is an issue
-if you need to eat immediately before high carb low fat is best ex. juice, smoothie, banana, bagel
besides that moderate exercisers can rely on their normal healthy eating routines, not anything special pre-workout.
