Undies to the rescue

Thursday, October 25, 2012

I had a ratty day yesterday. I forgot my swipe card, so I had to do the walk of shame. The security guards teased me about the junk in my bag. (At least it wasn't the junk in my undies!) Then second stage security didn't realize I work there and faffed me around. By the time I trudged to my desk, having gone round the long way, I was thinking I should have gone home as soon as I realized I didn't have my card. And stayed home.
Had a low grade headache all day.

At lunch time had to pick up a script, but the chemist was out. So went to a chemist further away and that made me late back. For a meeting that I had forgotten about! With my manager!

But that's not all!!!
It was Thursday and its saving grace is that it is swim day. Guess what else I had forgotten? Got to the pool and realized I had forgot my TOGS.
ARRGHHH!

However, all was not lost. In my swim bag I had a very old cozzie that used to fit me. Too low cut and too high cut to be modest, if you know what I mean.

BUT if I wore my black cami and black knickers under it, maybe it would fill in enough gaps to do the trick? It WOULD! It DID!

On the way home DH and I had a Thai at our local. Only he and I knew that I wasn't wearing any knickers!

Wow! That's what we call making lemonade from the lemons life hands you. You made a bad day into a good one in the end (except for the headache)! emoticon

I always keep an old suit in my bag too, but they usually have that worn V-shape on the behind where the chlorine has worn the elastic away -- I save them for the hot tub (ladies only) since it ruins suits anyway. I have, in a pinch, resorted to wearing them in the pool with my underpants (knickers to you) beneath. At least I don't compromise modesty, just style! Great story, lots of fortitude and resourcefulness. I'll remember to include you on my life raft if I'm ever stranded at sea! emoticon

Just loved this blog!! You are amazing! What willpower! I would have probably would have given up at the start of the day, and if I hadn't have given up on the day as a whole I most probably wouldn't have got to the point of going for a swim! Or going for Thai! Good on you. You really made me chuckle.
