Hubby and I are registered for a 10km Fundraisers run/walk :-)

Thursday, October 25, 2012

Hello every one,
Just a quick update.

Things are hectic here work wise.

Still having occasional melt downs about mum and how there is always "unfinished" business". We are hoping as a family to be able to take her ashes back to Holland and some of us want to replicate the 76 Km walk she did during the Winter Famine of 1944-45.

I was going through my e-mails this evening and found an enrolment opportunity for a fundraisers fun run/walk and we were able to join the team that represents our Football Club. So got in just in time to order our T-shirts and bibs to be posted out to us before the event.

This is my 2nd time doing an official run and hubby's first! emoticon
emoticon emoticon We will mainly be walking as neither of us have done enough training to do a serious run. I have started a fund raising page but did not finish it tonight as am too tired! emoticon

So hope everyone is OK haven't had time to catch up with any one this week. Had 21 people attend the Nutrition Workshop last Wednesday. This is about introducing babies to solid food. I do a lot about reading nutrition labels on products and terms and what they really mean.

I show a DVD called "Baby Led Weaning" by Jill Rapley and it is all about allowing babies to pick up the food themselves and eat healthy food in a fun way. This is a different approach to the pureed food approach.

Anyway it is time for me to put this weary body to bed! emoticon

Hope to do some catching up on the weekend.

Cheers and happy Sparking

I am proud of you for entering the 10K run and how fantastic that
hubby is joining you. Losing one's mum is not easy and I think that
replicating the 76 km walk in Holland is such a wonderful way to
celebrate your mother's life. I lost my mum when I was 4 and I always
feel a part of me is missing. You will slowly start to heal as time goes
by. Thinking of you. You are lucky to have memories of her. emoticon emoticon

Get some rest. You need it.

Who wouldn't have a meltdown if they lost their Mommy.

    Hi Libby !!.
What a lovely idea to do a memorial fun run ... and yes there is always unfinished business when you lose your mother .
As I have probably told you before.... my mother also had dementia .. and yes we always have regrets. We may not have told them how much we loved them and what a difference they made to our lives ..
My Mother and I survived bombing in the UK during the war .
She made a nest of blankets and pillows under this huge mahogany table and we got under that .. the house was bombed and it took the rescuers nearly all day to dig us out ..
Apart from dust and terror we were ok ..

Your Job sounds amazing .. must be so rewarding to be able to help new mums with their babies !.
    Hope you slept well .
    Much love Susie
