well, I must admit all the tools and articles and tracker things are a little intimidating/confusing right off the start... oh well! this seems like a great resource though, especially for accountability. well, I'm just getting started but basically, I'm here to get healthier, like most. In college I gained a lot of weight and have just become unhappy with the way I look and feel. In some ways I don't recognize myself. so, I guess this journey is also one of me getting back in touch with my values and what I'm passionate about.
since I started my journey, I've already lost 8 pounds which is a great feeling but have plateaued the past couple of weeks. only 42 more to go! I would love to be at my goal weight when I run a half-marathon I'm signed up for April 8, 2012.
I'm also vegan and will be significantly cutting back on added fat/oils/sugars in my diet.
I'm using a couple of cookbooks to get me started... Happy Herbivore, Everyday Happy Herbivore, Forks Over Knives, and Appetite for Reduction. I'm using a half marathon training plan and some recipes from an ebook I found at nomeathalete.com
