OK, we were asked to blog about our goals and where we are now since we are half way through this round.

I’m sad to say I’ve failed at almost everything I wanted to accomplish this round, except exercise.

Food ~ I’ve been eating out and not making the best choices way too often. Using any excuse to choose poorly. I expect I will have another gain this week as I’ve been eating way too many desserts and other bad choices. I want and have to do better.

Exercise ~ The one place I’m actually exceeding my goals. I’ve been working out 30 – 60 minutes every day! So I’m blowing my 20 minutes 5-days a week goal. I have not been doing anything but walking outside or LS walking dvds. I need to change that up. I still haven’t gone rock climbing due to the funky weather getting cold/damp over the weekend. My hands are a little swollen still today. They have been aching more and stiff, along with other joints but the hands are the reason I didn’t climb this weekend. See, part of climbing is belaying so the other person can climb. I was not willing to risk my husband’s safety to swollen achy hands. Safety first. I think I could have climbed all right as my fingers didn’t hurt, just the aching. But, in belaying one has to move the hands constantly taking up the slack in the rope so that if he falls off the wall he won’t drop far and hurt himself. I wasn’t sure I could keep up and be safe. So hopefully this weekend!

I need to start getting up before work again, but it’s been dark and cold. Two things guaranteed to make it more difficult to get out of bed. Tomorrow I WILL do something before work and not just after. I’ve slackened my pace for the walking too, although I did go for two walks with my husband over the weekend.

I also need to start mixing in some more intense workouts. I’m not losing weight just walking and I miss the boost I get from Tae Bo, Dance Central or other fighting Kinect games. I also need to do more strength training.

Me time ~ I am getting some great me time with reading, playing computer games. I have even kept up the at least once a month with my bff. So it’s been going good mostly.

Other ~ House cleaning especially needs to be stepped up if I’m going to have the living areas at least mostly presentable while gone. I have started doing a little a couple times a week but it definitely needs more. I have started plotting my novel for November. So I may be able to get that done too.

Right now I’m tired and need to get back to work. So I’ll end this here.

Tomorrow… What I’m going to change to make this work!

    Rock climbing sounds challenging, especially the safety aspect... good thinking about putting that exercise off... Good for you for exceeding your exercise... just think about being accountable to your team and being able to tell how well you have been doing!! emoticon
