The thing I have learned during the past 6 weeks is that I'm not a good team mate. A feel a bit bad about that, 'cause I know how much work and effort the BLC crew puts into this challenge, and then having a dud like me on the team who only participates sometimes and brings down the points average must be a bit frustrating. My apologies, all.
In all honesty, I'm overwhelmed with this challenge.
There is no way for me to keep up with the chat thread, LCW, TNT, weekend challenge. Counting vegetables, passing out goodies, rolling dice, shuffling cards, playing bingo... The ever changing formats and activities have me breathless and confused.
Participating in this challenge made me realize that
a) I don't play well with others :) and
b) I already have a plan in place that works (but does not co-incide with the team's schedule and activities).
Here is what I wrote 6 weeks ago in my intro:
My fitness plan works for me and I intend to keep it up during this challenge and beyond. And that I have done.
I spent 5 hours on the trail yesterday, hiking in the pouring rain, and logged over 35,000 steps. I guess that earned me 50 points for the team. I'll make sure to log them.
As far as food is concerned, I wanted to incorporate more veggies and fruits into my day and be more thoughtful when brown bagging my lunch during the week. I have done both with mixed results and I'll continue working on this.
I have met my goal of increasing average daily steps from 7,500 to 10,000, and continue to work on moving more and sitting less.
To my fellow Panthers - I will see this through best I can.
