I'm now starting the 5th week of the Back to Basics challenge and I'm very glad that I finally started doing it. I have been on Sparkpeople for over a year now, and I've only haphazardly used it. My weight was just getting out of control and I figured that is was about time that I got invested into this.
Since I've started on this challenge I have lost 16 pounds. Not only that, but I have started to eat better. The non-fitness goals have really helped out, because I knew that's where my difficulties lie. I have always been fairly athletic, so getting out there and exercising wasn't always the most difficult thing. Not over eating is always the difficult thing.
Since I've been tracking everything, I'm eating far more fruits and veggies and exercising. I'm training for my first 5k in a while. I will be running the Little Rock Mud Run this upcoming weekend. That has added to my motivation to continue with my running and working out.
I'm definitely pretty excited to see how the rest of this challenge works out. I'm sure I will do great, but I still have a long way to go to get to that ultimate goal weight of 180.
