Football in my home

Monday, October 22, 2012

I had to post a short blog on football in my home. It can be quite interesting at times. My DH is a Dallas Cowboys fan. He was born and raised in Texas. He has a authentic autographed Tony Romo jersey that he got a great deal on. Until the move, it was in the living in front of the fireplace. Right now, it's in the extra bedroom. I think we may hang it up in there.

Now, on the other hand, I'm an avid Seahawks fan. I was born and raised in Washington State, and have been following them ever since they came into existence in 1976. I have some Seahawks memorabilia but not a lot. A couple of jerseys (none signed).

So when the Seahawks and Cowboys match up, it can get quite heated. I think I'm a good winner when my Seahawks win, but sometimes it can be difficult. When they matched up this year (which the Seahawks won!), we had some friends over, who are also Cowboy fans. I had the hardest time not saying anything because they were all talking "smack" before the game started.

It's a lot of fun though when they aren't playing against each other. I root for the Cowboys and he roots for my Seahawks, and it's pretty civilized. emoticon

I love sports rivalries among friends and spouses! They can be so much fun! I graduated from The University of Akron and our rival is only 15 miles away so we have quite a bit of fun since most of us have friends at both schools. BF is an Ohio State graduate so I am by force an OSU fan lol. I have a good friend who's a Michigan fan though and we love to give each other a hard time! My NFL team is unfortunately the Browns so that's not so much fun...
