Thank You and an Update!

WOW WOW WOW!! I can not say Thank You enough to all my fellow sparkers and supporters! I know this is a little late, work and kids have kept me CRAZY busy! I can not say how amazed I was the day I logged in to my computer that I had found out that I was a Spark Motivator for a day!!!! I can not tell you all how much that it meant to me, as I have been down with an injury and a little down on myself! You ALL picked me right up with your awesome, supportive and motivating comments. I love that I can "touch" any of you and help motivate you but the simple fact is that you all motivate me to keep on going!!!

Now onto my update!!!! Well, I've been cleared to run again after a pelvic fracture. YES, you read that right.. I fractured my pelvis on a trail run (and did not know it for 3 weeks) and from a combination of over training! So, on that note, I will tell everyone out there.. listen to your body.. don't give up, don't quite but maybe scale it back some! Trust me... it's not worth the weeks of down time!
I did manage to heal and was allowed to cycle and elliptical during my down time. I will say, however, it is definitely not the same as running indoor or outdoor! I am currently in the process of regaining stamina and endurance. I am also starting a program to adhere to, to lose the 8 pounds I gained during my downtime!
I have been back to running for 5 weeks and feeling pretty good! I am doing my first race post injury on November 4 (my son's 15th birthday, he's running the 5K that day), I took the plunge... I'm doing the Half! This one is not about speed/time, just about finishing and crossing that finish line... Forward Movement!!!!

Less than 2 weeks!! I am nervous and excited all at the same time! I will blog and post pics after the Half Marathon. My son is going to be there to run his 5K and wait for me... my daughter will be there waiting at the finish for all of us. I am running with a dear friend that has helped to pull me through some tough times! She has been an awesome support system. Steph and I are running the Half together, we will conquer this one! It is her 2nd Half and my... well I'm in the double digits but sure does feel like my first after this injury!

Again... Thank you to EVERYONE... and keep motivating and Sparking! emoticon
