Happy Weight

Monday, October 22, 2012

Today's Spark Coach video was really interesting. I've long thought that height/weight charts aren't realistic for me - the last time I was at my "ideal" weight I was in hospital with the first bout of Crohn's Disease, having lost 10kg or so in a couple months. It was good to hear my belief confirmed by a dietitian. It was also a good reminder that I really don't have any weight-related health problems. My blood pressure, lipids, and blood sugar are great and I'm able to do most anything I want to. When I have to run for the bus or the commuter train, I can recover my breath within about a minute and I don't feel like I'm going to pass out. So there are lots of good things about my health and fitness levels. I don't think I'm entirely at my "happy weight" emotionally, and I'll continue to work on that, but at least healthwise I'm good

I have Crohn's as well, it does take the weight right off and in such a miserable way!
I like the 'happy weight', I'm not close to mine yet but it's a lot more realistic than any silly chart.
