How different our anniversary weekends have turned out. We used to do things like... go out of town to a little B&B... or spend the weekend in a jacuzzi suite right here in town. This year, we spent all morning at the kid's cross country race and all afternoon at the fall festival... and I wouldn't have changed a thing.
Saturday, however, was a little more grown up. We got to go to dinner, and spend the evening alone watching movies while my mom had the kids. This morning, we got to have breakfast WITH our coffee, and no one was fussing about not wanting to eat what I made. How dare I make eggs, and poatoes when all anyone should want is cereal and peanut butter toast???
So this morning, after a delicious breakfast, we went and got the kids for their first race.
Jake finished his mile in 12:01
and Katy finished hers in 14:53
post race with their ribbons... I didn't get a pic of their post race feast... pizza, cookies and orange drink, oh my!
After the race we went to the fall festival. It's a "free" festival that ended up costing us about $15, lol! It's not a ton of money, but when something is supposed to be FREE, you shouldn't chrarge for the "cool" extras. You know, face painting, hot cocoa and pumpkin carving. ALL the things the kids just HAD to do, lol! They do have lots of free activities like witches hat ring toss, pumpkin bowling, crafts, and a hayride. All the games come with candy prizes and who doesn't love a hayride?
Katy loved her butterfly, but Jake wouldn't do it. He's more of a bowler...
there were pumpkin guts everywhere...
popcorn witches hands...
and lots of hot cocoa
Today is our acutual anniversary, and some people might not think this is great way celebrate 12 years of marriage, but I had a pretty good time!
