I lost 50 pounds eating a lot of fast food (by choosing wisely), so I'm always excited to try the new healthier options that many fast-food restaurants are offering.
Today DH wanted to lunch at BK, and I remembered that I've been wanting to try their new salads. So, I had the Apple Cranberry (Grilled) Chicken Salad, and it was quite good.
This salad has grilled chicken, craisins, blue cheese, and apple slices on a bed of mixed lettuces. It comes with Ken's Apple Cider Vinaigrette dressing, which is quite tasty, though not low calorie.
Salads of this type are often too heavy on the blue cheese and craisins for me - I thought that this one had just the right proportion of ingredients. The salad without dressing is 310 calories.
The entire packet of salad dressing is 210 calories, but the salad would have been swimming in it, so I estimate that I used a maximum of two tablespoons of dressing. The dressing is a creamy white color, but is nice and thin - I thought that it really complemented the salad well, though my husband didn't like it at all.
I'd definitely order this again on a trip to BK. But, next time I'll try the light honey balsamic dressing that they have, just to see if it tastes good.
