I can't believe that it's already time for another weekly progress report.
1. Lose ten pounds.
My net loss since starting this goal is 3.2 pounds. I'm one-third of the way to my goal for this season! I met and exceeded my mini-goal to lose one pound this week.
2. Get 1000 minutes of exercise.
I'm up to 454 minutes, almost half way already! I was only able to make two visits to my fitness center this week, but they were very productive. In my continuing battle to overcome the elliptical trainer, I completed a ten minute session earlier this week. After that workout, I realized that part of the difficultly is that I'm focusing entirely on an arbitrary amount of time when I get on the machine (and moaning and groaning about how slowly it goes by).
Yesterday, I took a different approach. I set the machine for a 30 minute session, which I knew was beyond my ability right now but would carry me through without having to reset machine or worry about the timer. Then I turned on some music, covered up the timer, and went for it. Instead of focusing on the minutes left, I paid attention to how my body felt and did some slow/fast interval work. When I was tired and felt like I needed to stop, I checked the timer for the first time since setting it. The result: an 18 minute session! I am delighted.
