I have a terri ble weakness - I need goals to keep me interested and motivated. So, I have taken on a few challenges from some SP friends.

(1) Accepted a challenge to stop soda from Sept 19 to Oct 19th - emoticon
I am going to keep this challenge up. I drink about 10 cups of water a day which is much better for my body.
(2) Accepted a challenge to stop eating candy, cookies, cakes etc except for one treat a week. Challenge started Oct 10th. And actually, I haven't had any sweets at all. Not even cravng any. My daughter chased me wth a brownie yesterday because I refused to eat. I didn't desire it so I wasn't going to eat it to please her. She is really a good girl and she thought she was being funny.... she is a teenager, so we will leave it at that. emoticon
(3) Accepted a challenge to read 100 days of Weight Loss by Linda Spangle. It is a daily motivation book and it has challenged me to think about new views.

Maybe I take things to extremes.... unfortunately, that is who I am. But I do know my body is in better condition now with the right fuel.

It's only extreme if YOU think it is.

I know what you mean about extremes. I'm learning when to run with it and when to try to find more balance. Not an easy feat, but hopefully it will help me live a sane life.

It's also good to get different perspectives on things, and it sounds like you are with this book.

In any case, I wish you the best! Keep it up!
