36 weeks!! (With a pic finally!!)

Friday, October 19, 2012

So a blog post with a pic is LONG overdue!!!

Things have been going really great although two days ago, at 35 weeks 6 days, I officially reached the point of permanently uncomfortable!!

I've managed to maintain somewhat of a normal workout routine. It's nowhere near where I was back in March before we left for the Bahamas when I was doing the bootcamp in the mornings, lunchtime workouts and Zumba two nights a weeks. There were a few times when all three happened and it was NOT unusual to do two-a-days. This is NOT the case now. Now I'm doing Zumba one or two nights a week, usually just one because other stuff comes up. And I'm trying to get in two or three lunchtime workouts during the week.

Food has been hit or miss as it always is with me. I find myself making poor choices just because it's easier. When I used to make sure I had a healthy breakfast most days, I found myself eating a donut three times this week. I'm still really good about getting lunch simply because I still get lunch in the cafeteria. Unfortunately, lunch usually includes a cookie! And dinner is really hit or miss too. My husband has gotten so much better about including veggies in with dinner (he really likes a side salad with dinner so that's really helpful) but there are nights, like last night, when he isn't home to make dinner and I just can't do it (more on this in a bit) so he called to ask what we wanted. He suggested Subway, I chose Burger King! I know, I know!! Believe me when I say I paid for it!! Incurable heartburn at 2:30 am!! I would like to say lesson is officially learned!!! On the plus side, my binge eating at night has fallen by the way side simply because I can't consume large quantities of food anymore!

Overall though, I've tried to maintain a somewhat healthy lifestyle with this pregnancy and as a result, I think I'll be able to get pretty close to my pregnancy weight gain goal. My BIG goal was to gain 35lbs, but my second goal was to not go over 40lbs gained. At 36 weeks along, I'm at 37 lbs gained. They say you gain 1 lb a week at the end and I'll be having a c-section at 39 weeks so it looks like I'll meet my 40lb goal. It would have been much better to hit the 35lb goal, but I know with C I gained at LEAST 60lbs, (somewhere between 60 and 75 if I had to guess) so I'm doing so much better than that. I started at a MUCH smaller weight but I was also 17. I'm very confident that I will be able to lose all of the weight I've gained though!!

So without further ado, here is a pic I took in this morning. I have to say, I look much better in this photo that I look in real life!!!

I know I should NOT complain because overall, I have had a relatively easy pregnancy. Although there were a lot of stressful events that took place while I was pregnant, it was pretty easy and even though at times it felt like it was taking forever, it really has flown by. BUT, I'm so uncomfortable at this point. underneath my ribs hurts. Bad. Not like she's in there kicking away at them, but they are just sore. By 3:00 I can hardly sit up in my chair because the strain on my core is just too much. It's awful. I just go home and either sit in a chair with pillows on either side of me, or go up to my room and lay down for the night. Cooking dinner is out of the question most nights.

I'm also at a point where neither dog can sleep in our bed with us. Both have to sleep with C. I just don't get any sleep if they are in there anymore. So nights like last night, when C had a sleepover (school's out yesterday and today) and she wasn't home, we had to put the dogs in her room alone for the first time every. (Normally we'd let them both sleep in our room.) They just whined and whined. I don't know if I would have gotten more sleep if we'd caved and let them in our room or not, but hopefully since we stuck to our guns, if we have to do it again, they will whine less.

And not sure if I mentioned it or not before, but I had to officially give up wearing my regular pants a few weeks ago. I had been wearing them with a Belly Band unbuttoned, but that had to stop.

That's all for now. I'll try to be better in the next three weeks about keeping you updated. I've been pretty good about logging workouts but nothing else.

It's good to see an update from you!! So glad to hear that things are going well, other than the uncomfortableness. I can relate to that, even at 27 weeks. This baby is very low, which is already making bending over a difficult task! LOL!

You look emoticon ! Seriously, at 36 weeks, your bump is perfect! And you did great on the weight gain! You know you'll work your butt off and get it off! It looks like it's all right in your belly anyway! Seriously, you're gorgeous!

Enjoy these last few weeks, as I'm sure they'll fly by for you!
Hugs,
Beth

love the picture!! you look awesome! i was the same as you, i think up until about 32 weeks when she dropped, i was wearing my regular jeans with a belly band. I carried very high, and my jeans from AE were cut low, so it worked out =p until of course she dropped into the head down position haha.

your almost there! hang in there! soon you'll be cuddling that little bundle of joy! =)

You look great! Congratulations on meeting your goal of only gaining 40 pounds during your pregnancy. I gained 65 pounds when I was pregnant with twins almost 12 years ago and I am still fighting to get it off (I still had weight to lose from my first pregnancy too!).

Don't beat yourself up too much about the food choices - after all you are almost full term and the cravings have to be BAD! At least you are still working out. Keep it up and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
