Still Going....

I know I haven't posted in a few, but I'm still around.

I've been trying out a new gym. I've been there every day for different classes. So far, Turbo Kick, and Strength Training classes have kicked my butt!!!!

Anyway, I'm still stuck at 196. I think I'm eating too much to lose anything right now. I need to start watching again, but I definitely don't want to feel too restricted. I think the key is whole foods. I have to come up with a plan for easier meals that Casey and I will both eat. I hate to cook, but I think it is time to dig in and do it anyway. If I can get into a routine with it, maybe it won't be so bad.

I'd like to be in the 170s or at least low 180s by the end of the year. I am determined to beat Obesity!!!!

Still, I've maintained the 196 with only a little effort for nearly 6 months. I have to be proud of myself for that! But, there's more work to be done. I always feel so much better when I've been working out, and even better when I'm eating right. I need to remember that!

    I'm not one to cook either. I know I need to get into it - I just haven't been motivated enough. I did buy some cookbooks, but they're just sitting on my bookshelf. It's great that you're active and that you have maintained your weight for so long. I think your body needed this time to adjust. It sounds like you've got renewed motivation, so I'm sure some more weight will come off by the end of the year.

    Hi Lindsay, I read "I Can Make You Thin" by Paul McKenna. It offers interesting insights into re-training your body and mind to eating only when truly hungry and stopping when full. It's not a diet, more like a mindset and new way of eating. you're never hungry and it works. It's a very slow weight loss but steady. I've lost 22 and maintained it for 6 months and am still losing. I work out every day, have found easy foods that I love to eat and keep them on hand, I don't track my food, but I do track my fitness daily. Congrats on keeping it off thus far and for your gym workouts. That says a lot for your determination. There are so many great dedicated folks on this site, in particular, my friend, Pixie-licious who inspires me every day. I have you to thank for finding Sparkpeople. Stay strong, Girl! emoticon I'm right there with you!

    Maintaining is always nice! I just came back from a "hiatus" and I didn't gain any weight either. It may not have been a step forward, but it wasn't a step back either!! Keep pushing through and you'll reach your goal!
