Still here . . . Still downsizing

Thursday, October 18, 2012

I think they must've been wrong, but I could use some good news so I'll take it: down 1.4 for my lowest weight in 4 yrs. My third vacation in a row that I came back thinner than I left -- not by much, in reality, but definitely better than the alternative!

We rented a condo while we were away, so we only ate out one meal a day (one day not eating out at all).

And I realized something. I was forced to use a smaller bowl for my tuna Waldorf salad than I do at home -- the upside being that I used only 1 tbsp of mayo vs 1 1/2. And I'm now using a smaller bowl at home, too.

You have to cut corners anywhere you can!

I made the best lunch in Kauai (the same one I ended up losing on the cruise; oh well). I made a grilled cheese using avocado, harvarti & a regular English muffin. I almost never eat regular ones anymore but it was soooooo good! And a salad with just olive oil, a little lemon juice, sea salt & sliced papaya. Best lunch ever. Until I lost it. May be a while before I eat papaya again.

We apparently have a date for my father's surgery now -- nov 12. Hopefully everything will go smoothly & I'll still be able to go to Vegas. And I'm seriously hoping 2013 will be a better year!

    Yay for coming back thinner!!
I try to use small plates and bowls all the time...it does help.
That does sound good...except for the avocado part ;-)
I do hope the surgery goes well. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Congrats to you for losing while on vacation. Now I can let DH know that I am not alone in that venture. A few years ago, we went away, and because of all the walking and biking I encouraged us to do, he lost weight, despite his food choices!

Way to go seeing a loss on return from vacation is a score but I know you earned that since you got out there for some runs when you could have played the vacation slug card and curled up with your kindle in a hammock! I'm prous of you.

Also appreciate your sharing the smaller bowl comment...think I should take a closer look at my plates and bowls for some possible adjustments too.

Best wishes for your dad's surgery and hoping that you will be able to run through the stress. emoticon

You should give lessons on how to lose while vacationing...that's great!

Hoping all goes well for your father.
