Mindless Eating

This morning, I was checking email, checking my jobs that ran overnight, eating yogurt, checking Spark People, etc. When I looked down at my yogurt, it was all gone - WHAT? I look forward to my yogurt for breakfast, and now it's gone - grrrrrr.

This is what happens when you don't pay attention to what you are eating. I'm a high level multi-tasker. I can type and talk at the same time. I can be running an emboridery design on one sewing machine while I'm quilting on another.

I really need to slow down and enjoy my food while I have it. Not paying attention could lead to me reaching for something else when I can't remember what I've eaten. In the past (not so distant past), I would be able to eat a whole bag of cookies while I was reading a book, a whole bag of popcorn watching a movie, and not even realize what I was doing. Instead of enjoying 2 cookies or 2 cups of popcorn, I was just shoveling -- you know what I mean.

Here's to paying attention to what you are eating, so that you can enjoy your food and be satisfied with what you have.
