its hard to go it alone.

Thursday, October 18, 2012

I have the motivation in my mind but often translation into action is another beast entirely. Being the only person my house with weight issues and the only one with medical issues makes it rough to be good when nobody else is interested in doing what I'm doing. Being isolated at home all day doesn't help much either. I used to go out for a walk or run in my neighborhood but since moving to the country that isn't an option any longer. I need someone to hold me accountable and supportively encourage me, especially because I don't see much movement on the scales. So discouraging!!

I have a treadmill and I use it but having four kids at home means sometimes I end up having to get off as soon as I get on to tend to one of them. When I was walking/running before I was going before work and before hubby went to work so someone was home with the kids. Where I live there's no safe place to do that because those times it is dark and people drive like maniacs on country roads. I don't feel safe because there's nowhere to get out of the way if someone comes tearing down my road. Its just another obstacle to try and overcome. I'm working on it! I've tried going for walks with the kids too but they go so slow its hardly worth the effort for any real exercise.

I'm just trying to stay moving as much as possible during the day with household tasks like laundry and cleaning in between schoolwork. I figure movement is better than sitting.

Have you ever thought of getting a Treadmill or an Elliptical...I have invested in both and enjoy every moment of it. It is so convenient, I can hop on it at my convenience anytime of the day.

Wishing you great success towards your goals! emoticon

Just a thought! emoticon

You can still walk or run in the country. I'd say you now have better scenory plus there are lots of great videos on sparkpeople. You've got to want it for your regardless of other peoples input. You can find a lot of great support here within many of the teams. You can do it, but how badly do you want to do, how hard are you willing to work are questions you need to answer.

Good luck! You can do it!
