this is one of the photos marianne and i took yesterday in our fashion vegetable photo session. we had so much fun and got a few really nice pictures. this all started because marianne saw some beautiful posters of vegetable photos and really wanted to buy them. but marianne lives on an extremely tight budget--most of her money goes towards keeping her livestock and growing her garden so they have organic, fresh homegrown food all the year. so the 200.00 for a set of four posters was way beyond reality.
but i have a digital camera and a tripod, we both have lots of vintage milkglass and other vintage pieces, so we decided to have a go at making our own lovely vegetable posters. and this is what we got! the fact that i know almost nothing about how to use the camera meant we had several badly lit results, and my friend patrick told me that we have one of the milk glass pieces positioned with the seam showing, but we know we are climbing a learning curve and we are more than happy with our first attempt. the beauty of digital is that you just delete the boo boos and no one is the wiser.
the fact that shambles snuck in and made of with and ate one of our really "cute" green tomatoes and then returned to put a couple teethmarks in a lovely pink oxheart tomato necessitated some quick changes in a composition, but as vegetable professionals, we handled it.
in other news--i am nursing what seems to be a hurt shoulder or neck that is affecting my shoulder. need to listen to this injury and rest a few days, and i think i will go into town and get a contour pillow to sleep on. guess that's all for now--have a great day everybody!
