For a while I have been tossing an idea around in my head. For some reason, I have been wanting to “bike around the world.”
I don’t know if I’m a glutton for punishment or what because this is a challenge of gigantic proportions, after all it takes 24,901 miles to circle the earth.
One thing is for sure, I will be peddling for a long time!
I hope my Nordic Track recumbent bike can take the mileage!
I think this is the perfect challenge for me because with 212 more pounds to lose of my 232 pound weight-loss goal, I am keenly aware that I will have to be on this weight-loss journey for the long haul.
I’m hoping this challenge will keep me fully engaged in reaching my fitness goals.
Now I do plan on starting out on my exercise bike, but maybe as I lose weight I will be able to pull my regular bike out of the shed. I hope it works well after surviving the flooding last year that came with the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee.
Every now and then I intend to report my progress.
For a while now I have been saving my mileage from the cardio workouts I have done, and I could count that, but I think since I am making the challenge official today, I will start fresh with zero miles.
Today will be day one – that is after I go to sleep and wake up again, since it is after midnight.
So I’m off to a “trip around the world.” Wish me luck!!!
My cat Maya finds another use for my exercise bike!
