Almost Pizza for dinner

I sometimes get creative with my food and try to find a good, healthy substitute for favorites. I like cheese pizza but know the counts can be high. Well, tonight I decided to try to create an Almost Pizza for dinner. I took a Joseph's Flax, Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Pita Bread spread on 2 Tablespoons of Market Pantry Traditional Spaghetti Sauce and topped it with 3 Tablespoons of store brand Fancy Shredded Parmesan Cheese since I didn't have Mozzarella. Microwaved for 1 minute and tada! Almost Pizza! It was yummy on top of being quick and easy (just not crispy). Next time I'm going to use an Oroweat Multi-Grain Thins (split in two) for the crust, I think that will be just as good if not better. I may try to microwave the crust a minute first to dry it out (and crisp it?) a little before adding the sauce, we'll see.

    I will certainly try the flax pita crust and will look for the Oroweat Multi-Grain Thins (new to me). Love pizza and always looking for ways to lower the calorie count. Thank you for the ideas.

    Have you tried the Flat out thin crust flatbread. They make one called heritage wheat that's pretty good. I make a whole pizza out of one flatbread and hubby and I split it. Another thing you can try is instead of using sauce.... use diced tomatoes.
