Fitbit now Syncs with Sparkpeople!

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

Just one more thing in case you haven't heard yet - as of yesterday Sparkpeople now can connect directly to Fitbit to record your fitness (minutes, steps, and miles!) AND your sleep automatically!! This is huge for me - and just one more reason I'm so glad I invested in my Fitbit in June!! Its not even that big an investment - thank you Sherry for encouraging me to get one!!

Okay, I see you say it has no monthly fee, so I am assuming you do not pay the yearly fee for the full reporting on the fitbit's site. Is that correct? And if so, how can you get it to track your sleep on sparkpeople? I am looking at buying a fitbit and I'm trying to decide to between the lower end one and the higher one. Even though I should bite the bullet and buy the one that tracks your sleep so if I decide to pay the yearly fee I already have it.

No Peggy, no monthly fee. And you can form a group and have 'friends' so you can compare your steps to those of your friends. Best of all its tiny! I just slip it on the band of my shorts or pants and away I go. Its not bulky like my other pedometer was.

Yaydelwan, I'm so sorry yours isn't syncing! I'm not at all good technology wise, but this was as simple as clicking the button?? Perhaps it has something to do with your fitbit settings? I just can't imagine what is wrong??

Yaydelwan, did you get it working? I can't imagine why it would pull steps but nothing else, or why you would get those error messages?? I'd contact SP's tech support - I'm sure they can help!

I answered Kai_zen's question as a comment on her SparkPage, but I'll add it here. I have a Fitbit Ultra that I got in June.

Nancy, you can check it out at Its the best $100 I spent last year!!

Can anyone help - I can't get the syncing between Fitbit and Sparkpeople to work. I connected them yesterday and my steps went from FB to SP but nothing else. This morning I tried to disconnect and reconnect the two sites in the hopes that would help and I can't reconnect them again. When I go to the page on the SP site that should let me connect it says I don't have the authority to enter that page. All getting rather tiresome/frustrating now.

I saw that announcement. May I ask, which model Fitbit do you own? Any pros or cons to share? I need to replace my recently defunct pedometer, and the ability to synch with SP has me intrigued with the Fitbit.
