tuesday photo shoot.

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

monday is in the can, now its time for tuesday. got a fair amount done yesterday--ready to start on Christmas card one, but i need some images from sharon before i can proceed. the paper is ready and all my other reference pics are ready. today i will at least do the thumbnail sketch and place the large elements in the picture. i need current pics of her dogs, though, so i can get their faces right. hopefully there is an email waiting for me from her. and the same for kellie--i can't start on her painting until ihave images of all her dogs.
but i did get a good bit of work done on the slate triptych that is sitting on my work table--its three pieces of roof slate that will be connected by a three section frame made of copper pipe that is sweat soldered together. the subject is hummingbirds and fuschia. there are 2 hummers in the pic, and i am getting ready to start on the second one.
won't be able to start on that work until later today--marianne and i are going to play fashion photographer today. marianne saw some beautiful pictures of vegetables and we are going to try our hand at this today and see what we can come up with. i told her i will need to start painting in the afternoon, so we will go to the park and then come back here and work on this project for the remainder of the morning.
hope it turns out to be fun! have a great day everybody!

The slate triptych sounds beautiful! Did you make the frame yourself and do you paint on the slate? I hope you had a wonderful and productive day!!
