Day Three For My ActiveLink

Monday, October 15, 2012

Today is day three for using my new ActiveLink activity tracker. I'm having such a great time with this. I did 110 minutes in the pool (I attached the AL to my suit) and later did a 10 minute walk for a total of 120 minutes of activity. I didn't take it off until about 9:15p.m. tonight and logged my daily activity into the computer. Then the excitement began!!!

Saturday, when I put my Link into the computer no image popped up. I was bummed. Sunday, when I put the Link into the computer I could see hour by hour how active I was. Two bars on the graph were dark green indicating a higher intensity of activity. One bar showed a brisk 20 minute walk and the other showed me climbing stairs and walking around the yard as I toured my friends' new house.

Today, when I put my Link into the computer all kinds of activity showed up. I had dark green lines when I was working out and medium green lines when I walked and did things around the house. It looked to me like I was non stop motion from 7a.m. to about 1:30p.m. No wonder I was so tired today!

Since I'm in the process of setting up my baseline, I'm going to take SLENDERELLA61's advice and not wear my Link in the pool tomorrow when I do 3 aerobics classes. I feel that this would really set the bar way too high and since I do have a physical disability, that wouldn't work. I think that I'll just leave the device on my shirt when I lock up my clothes. I will wear it the rest of the day and maybe even take a walk later in the day just to keep the activity level going.

This is turning out to be so much fun!!! At the end of 8 days, my ActiveLink will set up a 12 week fitness challenge for me. As I progress each day, I will look to see how many of the little lights on my Link light up by the end of the day. If I can move enough to light up all of the lights around the outside of the ActiveLink, I will achieve my goal for the day. Yes, I know, I'm like a little kid with this thing. The great thing is how motivated I feel!
