13.1 came and went... :/

So this weekend was the half marathon I was supposed to run in with the nurse from my school. Sadly, I didn't keep up with my running this summer and I did not sign up. As disappointed as I am with myself, I still went to cheer her on! She did awesome with an average of 11:32/miles. It is still on my bucket list to do one, I just need to get serious and train for one. As I watched from the side, it made me want to run! I feel somewhat guilty that I didn't but I am hoping for my motivation to kick in by early Spring.

As for everything else, I am back at the gym 4x a week still doing my thing. I could use more discipline (eating wise) on the weekends though. emoticon My goal is to be back at around 151 by Christmas (like I was last year!) and I know I can do it. I just need to stick with my calorie range and keep exercising. emoticon

    I hope this sounds encouraging. With being pregnant I was put on bed rest for the last two months of my pregnancy. TOTAL bummer! I really wanted to keep walking and be healthy for delivery. I gained about 10-15lbs extra from having to not be active anymore and just eating to pass time. Then when I was going into labor I got super excited because I thought, "Finally! I get to be active again!WOOHOO!" Low and behold, I ended up loosing a lot of blood during the delivery which is called Post Partum Hemoraging. This meant that I STILL had to be on bed rest after delivery! :( Well, when I went to see my doc for my 6 week check up she said I looked good and could return to normal activities. What actually ended up happening TMI ALERT I had a slightly prolapsed bladder. Which means my muscles down yonder were weakened because of the delivery and thus my bladder was slightly drooping. This means no running or jumping for a while. I LOVE LOVE LOVE having my daughter. I would do anything in the world for her but I do have to say that the pregnancy has left me feeling soooo down about physical activity. I wish I could go outside right now and run a mile just as fast as my legs would take me. I am clear to walk and lift light weights so you bet your bottom dollar that that is exactly what I'll be doing! But I told my husband that I never ever again want to take for granted being able to exercise at the drop of a hat. It is such a wonderful privilege to get to move and run and exercise the way that you'd like. I work in a physical rehab hospital where folks are trying to learn to walk again. Now that I'm going through this season in my life where I am restrained from exercise I see how awesome it is to be able to do it! So, take full advantage of being able to get out there and train! What a wonderful point you are in your life to be youthful and unencumbered by physical obstacles. Run a mile for me... emoticon
