Setting a new goal through May 2013

Well Dear SparkFriends, I have not made much progress this year although I can say I haven't GAINED. Now to get SERIOUS!!!
I am setting a goal of losing at least a pound a week until my Mom's 80th birthday Memorial Day weekend.
Losing 1 pound a week will take me out of the obese category.
If I were able to lose 2 pounds a week, I would be at my goal weight.

Please both wish me luck and hold me accountable. I am nervous because I am menopausal and losing weight is HARD. I've developed chronic pain conditions in my back, shoulder and right knee, and will need to modify my activity. But I REALLY want to do this!

Addendum: Just read that SparkPeople and Fitbit have teamed up. Ordered my Fitbit Ultra in order to see if sleep is the missing link in my program. This will get me up and going! Amazing how "all things work together for good..."
There may be hope for the US obesity epidemic yet!

    YOu can do this you set a goals of 1 pound a week reasonable none of those huge non reachable goals. remember you can exercise in 10 minutes sections one of the teams I belong to has a team challenge so something during each commercial at night while we watch TV you will be surprised at how fast they add up by bed time emoticon

    Wow, what an awesome and reachable goal! Getting out of the obese category by your mom's birthday--huge! You're right, you'll need to be creative about movement, but you can do this! You've got what it takes, I know it.

I'm wishing you good luck -- but it's hard to hold you accountable, since I'm in the same boat and have to re-commit to a program.
A pound a week, sounds good to me.....and I know you can do it! emoticon
