What Constitutes a Wonderful Day?
Sunday, October 14, 2012
First off I woke up to kisses from my two grandchildren. (They are with us every other weekend). Then my husband and I drove to downtown Boston to see The Dalai Lama at the Copley Marriott. (He had purchased the tickets for my birthday). First we were treated to about a half hour of songs from James Taylor. "You Can Close Your Eyes" and "You've Got a Friend " were two of the ones he sang.
"Hey ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
People can be so cold. They'll hurt you and desert you.
Well, they'll take your soul if you let them, oh yeah, but don't you let them."
(Great little mantra for SP I was thinking!)
Then the Dalai Lama came on stage with a standing ovation!
Topic of the day: "Beyond Religion, Ethics, Values and Well Being."
Very dynamic speaker. Emphasizes compassion, holistic thinking, embodying the mind and the heart. How we are all connected. With more compassion, there would be less world turmoil. This is the second time I have heard him speak and first for my husband. We were certainly awed by his presence and truly inspired by his words.
Then off to an art store so I could buy some supplies.
Lastly, dinner at a favorite restaurant. Now home to enjoy the rest of the evening.
That is what constitutes a wonderful day!
To all, hope your day was wonderful too!
