10/13/12 - Yoga

I used to think yoga was torture, but not anymore. I did a video today that I've had for a long time, but didn't do because I didn't enjoy it. Today was a different story. It seems the more yoga I do, the more I enjoy it. The stretching feels so good, is calming, and relieves stress. I've been doing spark videos for yoga, Your Shape Fitness yoga, yoga sessions I dvr'd from tv, and now this video I have. I'm going to see if my daughters would like to try some with me. I don't know that it's something I want to do daily yet. If I would, I think it would mean getting up early to do it so that I could do my regular exercise when I get home. I really don't like getting up any earlier than I have to.

    Enjoyed reading this. You remind me of a yoga teacher that said that during her training, there was one pose she really disliked and thought 'once I'm a teacher I will NEVER use that pose with my students!'. Then a few years later when she did her exam she went through all the exercises, did this one again and... loved it! :)
My take is it's better to just do the yoga when(ever) you feel like it. If you make it into a 'must' you won't enjoy it as much and it won't be as relaxing. So just do it whenever you feel like it and have the time. You can also just do five or ten minutes when you have a moment, and do those poses that you really like to do. With time your practice may expand. Or not. Both will be fine.

    I used to do Yoga years ago and I miss it. I also think it relieves stress~ emoticon emoticon
