I thought it would be a good idea at the start of my vacation to record what Jeff and I intend to do on this, my first day of vacation. It will kind of commit me to a plan, and will give me a way to measure my success, that is assuming I am successful.
We are having a staycation. We are going to stay at my house. The goal is to have plenty of relaxation (not inactivity) doing what we want without the stress of outside interference. I have a honey-do list which includes cleaning my carpets and replacing my garbage disposal (which just died last week - not a problem, it sounded like a jet airplane taking off!). I'm sure we will have to mow and trim the lawn, do laundry and normal housework, but that doesn't take very much time. I want to make my real Italian spaghetti sauce one day (yes, it takes most of the day). The big optional project on my list is to take down the split rail fence in my back yard (since it doesn't look like I'll be getting a puppy any time soon). Oh, and maybe we can wash my car. For fun, we are going to play guitar, watch movies, read and nap. I would like to try some new healthy recipes that we can work into our normal lives. When it's a work week it's too hard to come up with any dinners that aren't quick and easy, it's just easier to make the old standbys.
As far as our meals and activity, we intend to stay within our ranges with maybe 1 splurge day. We plan to eat at home most of the time. I think we will exercise every day, even if it's only a short walk. That's probably up to Jeff since he is better at telling me it's time to exercise than I am at telling myself. The house work will also be some exercise. I would like to see us end the week with about a pound or 2 lost. That would be a very successful week I think.
I hope Jeff doesn't roll his eyes when he reads this and sees my list. Knowing him he won't, and we will have all the list finished by Wednesday!
