Ballroom dancing Shoes!! help!

Saturday, October 13, 2012

ok... call me a dummy but i didn't know. I purposely bought ballroom dancing shoes because I heard they were very comfortable. I bought them for a wedding coming up in November. I just bought them yesterday. I now realized that these shoes should not be worn out in the street and should not get wet due to the suede sole on the bottom of the shoe. What if its raining? Perhaps i won't be walking on concrete that much -- from the car to the wedding ceremony. But this may mean i may have to take an extra pair of shoes, just in case? Whats irritating me the most, besides me not doing a thorough research beforehand, is that the sales people NEVER said anything about not using them on the street. They knew it was for a wedding (not ballroom lessons), yet never said anything! To top it off... their store policy is store credit or exchange which means I can't get my $ back. sooo.. my question to anyone out there with ballroom experience... how bad could it be to use them on the street (if at all) for a short period? Any advice? I'm so mad at myself and them. Also, i'm guessing i should check out Nine West shoes for comfort (in case i decide to get another pair) - any recommendations? Thank you for listening.

as long as there are no "ridges" on the bottom of your shoes, they should be alright for dancing. Those with suede bottoms will glide real easy .... watch your step and unless it is raining I wouldn't think they will be much of a problem .... sure would break them in a bit so you don't get any blisters with the stiffness .... have fun !!
