How our brains define us & connect us to the world & to one another.

Saturday, October 13, 2012

This is an amazing story and totally worth the 20 minutes it takes to watch it! Hope you enjoy :) Thanks! ~Nikki

"Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened -- as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding -- she studied and remembered every moment. This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another."

I've always been amazed at the complexities of how our brains function and can recover or not recover from traumatic brain injury. Having a child with developmental problems at a young age and seeing him grow and living a close to normal life and still striving for what we all want gives me insight into their world and how they sometimes see it. Thanks for sharing.
