It's been quite the week. I have guests coming in next week, so all efforts were focused on getting the house in order (amazing how instrumental planning to have guests over helps us get out of CHAOS - Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome).
The lawn is completely done, including bushes trimmed, edging done, a tree that was too close to a window removed, mulch placed (did THAT myself), mums put out for color, and they are scheduled to come back out to aerate and reseed after the guests leave. The house is now power washed. I've filled up a recycle toter and will be soon filling up a second- I can now see floor space that was covered with boxes of papers and my fire hazard risk has been immensely improved. The carpets are cleaned. Since I hurt my back, maid service has disinfected all the bathrooms and surfaces are gleaming.
Feels like I'm preparing the house to put on the market, LOL.
Salvation Army is getting a sizable donation of high quality dresses and pants I no longer wear, as well as my bicycling wardrobe.
The menu is planned according to Spark guidelines & Weight Watchers points (THANKS CHEF MEG FOR THE ROASTED VEGETABLE RECIPE!).
I have a selection of wines and will pick up fresh lilies on Sunday.
Moral of the story: "Love" makes us do things we won't do for ourselves.
Tonight is the Bonnie Raitt concert I have been anticipating virtually all year.
So celebrate with me!
(Knew I could make you laugh!)
