TMI about sleep

I didn't blog it yesterday but I woke yesterday morning feeling great. I felt some pleasant aches from doing some exercises I was unaccustomed to, but DH & I both commented on how well rested we felt and that is because we got 8 hours' sleep.
I attribute it in part to having had a good pool workout the night before, and partly to a knock on effect from the school holidays. No parents taking their kids to school makes our commute to work more than 10 minutes shorter so we can take our time with waking up and getting the show on the road.
But alas, I had a dreadful night's sleep last night, after two great nights. I know why, too! I inadvertently had a short nap early in the evening and when it was bedtime, I just wasn't interested in sleeping. It took me until after 3 am to get to sleep and I woke at 7.45. With a kind of sleep related nightmare in which I dreamed an earwig (I have a little thing about earwigs) was trying to crawl into my nose to eat my brain. Promise not to share my dreams on a regular basis, LOL!
In retrospect when I did not go straight to sleep I should have used my sleep hypno app to set myself off to sleep instead of cruising the internet.
Oh I did NOT want to go to 8am Zumba this am, so I won't. I'll get on the elliptical instead.

Normally I would not be blogging this detailed boring sleep stuff but I did want to make sleep a focus this month, late in the month as it is. Part of my master plan for the year was revisiting my sleep habits, which have generally been pretty good since I paid attention to sleep a while ago. So I must nip this slip in the bud.
Luckily the weather is making an indoor kind of moochy day a good choice for the beginning of the weekend.
