So, I'm happily typing away while my bug man is out digging a trench around the exterior of the house for termite treatment. Ugh. That's all that I'm going to say.
In other news, I've got the windows on the back of the house opened up since the weather is fabulous outside -- the first in a long while here in Phoenix.
My moving preparations are coming along.. slowly.. but at least in the right direction. Trying to get the house ready to rent out and keeping my fingers crossed that it rents quickly and with good tenants. I only have so much energy to dole out each day. Today's quota is already half used up by the termite treatment. Although it could ALWAYS be worse -- so I'm grateful that 1) I have a bug guy treating it, and 2) I was on the ALL BUG PLAN, which made (1) much more affordable than it otherwise would have and 3) that the problem was discovered before the house fell down into little bitty pieces (although I'm told with the subterrainean termites this would have been a long long while. Still. Things to be grateful for.
So far, been reasonably on track with eating, tracking and exercise this week. Not as much exercise as I would have liked, but trying to make up for it when possible by running around the house cleaning and organizing.
I went out to meet two good friends last night for a mini farewell get-together at a place called the Elephant Bar. I'd already planned for a glass of wine and had an extra 300 calories to spare for the day -- but wasn't really planning to have an appetizer. Generally we just have a glass of wine and talk which is perfect. Although one of my friends showed up starved, so she ordered some appetizers and before we knew it, we all had appetizers ordered. While looking at the menu, I thought -- gee, those vietnamese shrimp spring rolls sound good and healthy, right? So I ordered some and we each hung out and talked and had a great night. Later that evening when I got home, I logged onto the restarauant's website to get the nutrition information -- and was astounded at the calories and SODIUM. I'm assuming the nutrition info was for the entire dish and sauces, which I only had part of the sauce and none of the salad-like whatever-it-was that was drenched in some weird dressing/vinaigrette. (It was hard to tell on the nutrition page what exactly that included -- I'm hoping it was the entire dish.) I did manage to choose the healthiest of the appetizers, but was shocked at how high the calories were for some of the other things on the menu. So although I did manage to stay within my calorie range given that I'd planned ahead, it was still surprising to me. No wonder so many Americans have a weight problem.
Anyways. So that was my big happening. I've got 2 days left of my accountability blog!
Tomorrow is my ME-day (aka, weigh-in day). It will be four weeks, so I'm hoping for a good scale reading.
Looking forward to a fantastically awesome weekend (despite starting it off with termite treatment).
