Alas, today was a perfect storm of too little sleep, no time to prepare a good breakfast, and a very stressful day. I caved to time pressure this morning and had some instant oatmeal + peanut butter for breakfast, and this afternoon I killed my no-Starbucks-streak with a tall cinnamon dolce latte. And this evening I ate carrots and hummus (and steak and blueberries) for dinner; hummus is also not paleo. So, no gold star for primal living today.
Still, even though I didn't quite hit my streak-goals today I didn't do so bad. I kind of feel like I pigged out but the final numbers were ~2600 calories and 200g carbs. Higher than normal, but considering I had a few sub-1600 calorie days last week this high calorie and higher carb refeed day is probably a good thing! One latte and a cup of oatmeal once a month is hardly cause for concern, right? And I hit 33g of fiber today, so that'll make tomorrow pleasant, lol. ;) I also went for a good run yesterday, played softball today, and I'm going climbing again tomorrow, so I'm not overly concerned that this one day will somehow undo all the progress that I've made so far.
That said, I do have five days left of my 30 day challenge and I want to end it on a high note! My sister isn't coming to visit this weekend after all, so I'll be able to cook and eat all the veggies I want without catering to her chicken-fingers-and-milkshakes dietary needs. So now I'm off to get a good night's sleep and get right back to meeting my primal goals.
