Today I went in to the political offic early, so I could leave at 1 p.m., for my visit to the hospital. I ate breakfast, but haven't done any exercise yet. First I went to get my Coumadin checked at th other office in the hospital, and then went in to my cardiologist's. I got my BP checked, and it was 98/62. Then my cardiologist said my last stress test went well, and my echo last month showed an improvement in my ejection fraction. This is the percentage of the volume of my heart that gets pushed out wth each beat. Normal is over 50%. In 2001, mine was 16%. Today mine is 45%, which means my heart is getting a lot stronger. She still wants to do a transesophageal echo in 6 months, which sounds unpleasant, but my biggest issue right now is my leaky valve. If I can get my ejection fraction over 50%, and replace the valve, I may be able to go back to work, and resume a normal life. The best thing I heard today, was when she told me that if I walked in to the hospital today, she would not have given me a defibrillator. I don't need it.
So now, I have to go get some exercise, but since all I had was a mushroom omelette so far, I decided to cook lunch/dinner, and eat lunch. Chicken, tomatoes, and onions. Then I am going to play some basketball for an hour, maybe even two.. I feel amazing. Part of that feeling is the weigh in I did today. I was worried about a gain from having a Coke yesterday, but instead, I lost 2.4 lbs. I am down to 231.2... 1.4 lbs from my monthly goal of losing 8 lbs.
Tonight, I will be watching Big Bang Theory, X Factor, and the Vice Presidential debate, while keeping an eye on the Tigers. Hope you have a great night everybody
