ihate itunes

Thursday, October 11, 2012

Wow. Is it just me or does the world center around Apple Corp? What does my 15 year old (today) neice want for her bday? An itunes card. What does my 9 yo niece want for Christmas? An itune card. What does my 8 yo nephew want for Christmas? An itune card. I never even heard of itunes until like 3 years ago!! What's up with that? What happened to make-up or a barbie doll or clothes or the other stuff we had when we were kids? Why are they all about itunes and technology now? I think I need to go find some Amish wood hand carved toys and lock all the kids in my family in a room with them for about 3 days LOL!!

I wish my kids would be that easy to please, but now that they are adult it is impossible to find something for them. So we have this deal : I give them some money so they can buy what they want, then they have to come back to me, give me a hug, make me a cuppa and sit with me while they tell me all about what I "bought them" for their birthday! No pressure on me; they get what they want; and I get a hug, a cuppa and some precious time with my children!

The future belongs to the young, and it looks like Apple has cornered the market, at least for the time being. (Written on my iPad) emoticon

I agree! My niece and nephew are both under 3, but even their toys are getting more tech-y. (Have you walked down a toy isle?)
So for holidays, we (the whole family) get them a mix of "current" toys and other stuff like books, puzzles, etc.
