10-11-12 Sugarless Gum

Thursday, October 11, 2012

Is it the sugarless gum you crave or just something sweet in your mouth?

While experts state there is no harm in chewing gum, in fact it may actually curb your appetite, if you want to break this habit, you may want to look at your overall diet and see if you consume a lot of sweets, not necessarily in the form of candy and pastries, but maybe those foods benign in sweetness, such as salad dressings and cereal.

If that is the case, when your palate is not frequently fed sugar the less your body craves it. And while I know you are chewing sugarless gum, studies show that even the 'fake' sweetners can trigger a similar result in our brain that sugar does.

Below are a few articles I linked to the SparkPeople site that may help.
