Here I am, back on dear old Spark, and aiming to shift that last 5 kilos before Christmas. I got started in August, but had to stop weighing food and counting calories for six weeks, and here's why:
My eldest grand daughter got a good job in a West End department store. She lives way out in the country and they wanted her to start immediately - so I said come and stay here till you find a place in London. But she's living with anorexia, and while she's coping pretty well these days, she tends to deal with stress by controlling her eating. I simply could not start weighing food and counting calories in front of her. She looks up to me and it would have been insensitive at best, downright dangerous at worst. I didn't put on any weight while she was here, just stayed happily on my plateau.
It was wonderful having her stay here, she's a dear girl, and now she's moved into a shared flat with people her own age, we miss her terribly. She's going to come to supper with us once a week, which we're so looking forward to, but at least I can now get back on the wagon.
60 kilos by Christmas - there - I've said it!
