work out - challenging myself

today I walked at lunch. That isn't really a challenge. The closest thing to a challenge was to get the habit of it started again.

yesterday morning I tried to do a yoga video off my Roku NetFit channel. Ummmm, yeah, TOTALLY did not work out, at all. Was hoping for a workout but something somewhat gentle and easing me into my day. 3rd move I literally could not do. So, I switched, I didn't give up, but I switched to a pilates video. Yeah, that didn't work either. I ended up doing almost 20 minutes of attempted exercise, I challenged myself to do something out of my comfort zone and I am still sore tonight.

I went through some other videos on that channel and .... I'm going to try a boot camp one. I actually skimmed through the entirety of the first two videos to make sure it mostly looked like things I was capable of doing already, and they do. So, here goes nothing!
Here's hoping I wake up early enough
Here's hoping I don't give up 5 minutes in because its too early in the morning.
Here's hoping I somehow or other end up not despising it. ;)

I'll let you know how it went.

    i really need to get myself back into a routine as well. i get exercise, fairly regularly, but not on a schedule.
[edited to redact something non-reading-comprehension-related] have you ever been to a yoga class? it's really hard to do a video if you've never been taught how to do the positions properly; same with a book.
pilates is HARD. amazing for the abs and ALL of your muscles, but not easy at all. a lot of it practically impossible if you aren't used to pretty heavy ab work (hundreds, anyone?) dang it, again i wish you weren't in wisconsin!!

BUT both of those you can modify and only do the stuff that looks manageable and rest or do something else during the bad bits for now ;)

find what works for you and stick with it, because the best exercise is the exercise you will do, right?

    oh gawd. you're not gonna believe this. I went through those videos. I had my remotes set. I had my clothes waiting for me. I had a bottle of water waiting for me. I was mentally prepared to give it a shot.

and I TOTALLY forgot to change my alarm!!! Worse than that? I actually woke up at 6:10, 5 minutes before I wanted to get up and thought "I'll just lay here and wait for my alarm to go off."

ugh.
