Free May Cost Yu Big-Time!!

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

People were running as if their pants were on fire!! ...... Dashing thru the clinic to the coffee shop where they were offering FREE Godzilla drinks ........ Seems it is their five year anniversary celebration ........ sooooo they have either standard chocolate ...... (tons of chocolate!!) OR pumpkin flavor. She offered to start me one ......... emoticon and of course I asked if there was such a thing as a 'skinny godzilla' ............ emoticon silly me!! ....... She told me, 'no' ....... no such animal ........ that they were LOADED with sugar, half and half cream ....... and so forth ........ So!! .......... In a quick flash, I remembered my sweaty workout done at 4:00 this morning ......... and said, "Thanks, but no thanks" ............. That would have been a big time 'set-back' and NOT worth it!! ........... emoticon Keep on sweatin and learn when to say NO!"

1-26-13 Addendum ......... This is a happy note because some time ago, I stopped drinking all the froo-froo drinks (like blended Chai w/ whip) ........ I thought it was a once a week 'treat.' ................ Well....... after getting 'away' from that stuff, I have found I do NOT like sugary drinks period! Water is still #1 and healthy choices that do no harm. I think this is progress!

LOL! I actually really like 7-11 pumpkin lattes every so often, but a small one is 210 calories so I don't do it very often. One thing I did also try was to get basically half of a small one (in a larger cup) and filled the rest up with regular coffee, and that worked well, too!

Saying, "No" can be so challenging when everyone else is saying, "Yes." Right now, I find myself saying, "Yes" more often. Thanks for the reminder and encouragement!

Wonderful! I said no to the office cookies today. However, I kind of have the urge to throw them in the dumpster. Out of sight out of mind, right?

Hilarious....a skinny godzilla drink! Like there could ever be anything healthy in a godzilla or jumbo or ginormous anything. And we wonder why this country is so freaking fat... My husband read me an article from the paper about the new fried invention of a fried fluffer nutter - two pieces of bread, peanut butter, banana, and marshmallow fluff dipped in a batter and rolled in panko bread crumbs and fried until golden brown. OMG...a heart attack waiting to happen! And good for you for having the strength and intelligence to turn down the kind offer...my hero!

    Those events always stun me.

I made a faux paux one day at one such things. For customer appreciation days a business was offering a free hotdog, chip and pop lunch from the food wagon. I was really getting into my loss program and said something to myself which the giver heard. I felt very ungrateful when he said "you don't have (stress that word) to eat it". Now I just ignore any such freebies keeping my mouth shut in more than one way.

Great blog!

good for you. I looked up pumpkin coffee which is a favorite by the way 300 calories. I would rather eat a steak. I make my own coffee now black with just a smidgen of milk . hardly any calories or guilt.

I don't have a clue what a freakin' Godzilla drink is but GOOD for you for being so STRONG!!! My younger teen daughter brought home a Toblerone from school last week....she won it in her German class but she hates chocolate. I'd never had one in my life and could NOT stop myself from trying it. Big mistake. Turns out swiss chocolate is unbelievable delicious. The thing kept sitting in the pantry while my older teen daughter ate a piece a day. I finally couldn't take it anymore and ate the rest ALL AT ONCE. I'm so weak it's pathetic!
