Wedding Planning, Moving, and More

Tuesday, October 09, 2012

There are so many things going on in my life right now that it's hard to know where to focus. My wonderful boyfriend proposed to me on September 9th, and life has been a real whirlwind ever since.

Of course, I've gone into Wedding Planning Mode. We've already picked out a wedding and reception venue (which means we have a date! June 8, 2013), and I've already ordered the dress and the veil. But now there are so many other things we have to look into, research, and book. For example, we need to:

emoticon Book a DJ
emoticon Talk to a florist
emoticon Talk to a bakery for the cakes
emoticon Hire a photographer

And that's just the stuff we should try to book right away so the good ones don't all disappear! There are still thousands of other little details to figure out as well, such as bridesmaid dresses, invitations, decorations, etc.

On top of wedding planning, I am also working on moving in to my fiancee's house. So I have to pack up all of my stuff and clean out my old place. This weekend, we are going to be doing the actual move. It's kind of stressful, because I own my condo (well, have a mortgage, anyway). Ideally, I would have liked to have sold my condo, but the market is making things difficult. So it's looking like we're going to have to rent out my place. So we're also researching turning it into a rental. I don't really want to have the stresses of being a landlord added to my list...but it doesn't look like we have much of an option not to.

Plus there's the usual work/other life happenings going on. I'm just glad that there's one thing that I *don't* have to worry much about. And that is fitting into the dress. I made sure to get one with a corset lace-up back. That way if I gain a little weight OR lose weight (hopefully) I can just tie it tighter, or leave it a little looser. So I'm glad that I don't have to turn my Spark journey into a race.

And I'm not going to go crazy and change up how I'm doing things, either. I'm going to keep on working on eating within my ranges and doing my scheduled workouts. So woohoo to already having those things in place and not having to learn something new during such a busy time!
