Catching up, after so much work!

Tuesday, October 09, 2012

Last week I had to work full time when normally I work part time... I was working 7.30 to 5 instead of 8-1!!

I was also working as Acting Head Of Unit, so extra responsibilities.

We are still working on settling children into new routines, getting to know new ones, facing lots of challenges head on.

I have been totally worn out.

Really in need of some support to help me get on with things.

Like someone else mentioned, are the longer hours a permanent change? Sometimes when life gets too hectic, we just have to do our top priorities and let the rest go until we reach a calm place again. Can you squeeze in some rest time for yourself? Sending you hugs.

It's hard to add extra work hours onto an already full day. Is the situation temporary or permanent? I'm sure that you are wonderful with the kids and I bet they wish they had you more during the day!

You need to be sure to take the time to care for yourself. It's harder when you're tired, but more important than ever. Remember that you can do it!!!

hopefully the hours calm down and you can get back to focusing on your health and fitness...keep making those healthy home cooked meals and drinking your water, try and get rest in when you can, it is hard to find that balance when your schedule changes, you are not alone!! keep at it girl!!! you are a toughie!

With less time you have to cut something, just make sure that you plan on what you cut out. With me volunteering recently, it seems I am cutting out TV, but I need to make sure that I use that time to cook meals, or else I have no doubt, I will eat at the office. Most of the time, we cut out stuff that is beneficial to us, instead of asking others for less of our time, and to understand why. Luckily, my TV complains even less than I do, and I have no family that needs my time. Just be sure to put your needs towards the top of the list.

Is this temporary, or did you get moved up permanently? I hated when I would get a part time job for extra money, and they would always try to make me a manager. I just wanted to collect my paycheck, and leave, but I always do my best, and most people don't, so I am always being asked to run things. I hope that if this happened to you, that you are okay with it, and once you adjust, it is less taxing, and stressful.

I know how difficult it is to juggle life. I hope you are able to get some rest. If things look overwhelming, pick just one or two things to focus on for a time, simple things; then more as you are able.

Please know that I care.

I really feel for you, anyone who works with children deserves a halo! I only have one child, and by the end of the day I'm emotionally and psychologically drained.

The best way to get back on track is to write down a plan and your ultimate goals. I have to do this about once a month, because I'm always falling off the wagon. Thank goodness Spark is here for us!

What a wonderful thing to be put in a leadership role within a year of starting! Adjusting such a different schedule must have been quite a challenge. Good job making it through. You are doing great, Pookie. Keep making good sleep and eating choices and you'll keep up your energy to get through the challenging time of change over with the children.
