exercising but...

So I found a type of exercise I enjoy which is high energy dancing to my favorite music. I do this almost every day. I also have a new part time job watching (chasing) children. Yet, when I weighed myself last, I discovered that I have gained 13 pounds. This is why I get so discouraged and want to give up on this struggle to get healthy.

    I'm kind of hoping it is muscle mass too. My jeans fit about the same, anyway.

    Don't give up! I read somewhere that the key to losing weight is diet, the key to maintaining is exercise. So even with all the exercise, maybe you need to reevaluate your diet and see if there is some adjusting that could be done there.

    I understand totally. I'm trying desparately to lose weight but it's a very slow process. I workout 130 minutes daily using the elliptical, weight training and mat exercises. I track every bite I eat and nothing. All I can figure is that I'm gaining weight from extra muscle mass.

    If you are menopausal your hormones can also cause issues.

    Don't give up. I'm going to keep going and hope by magic I start loosing.
