The Lord Willing!

Monday, October 08, 2012

Our society needs to get back to saying " the Lord willing" James would agree, he writes: " Come now you who say, Today or tomorrow we shall go to such and such city and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit." James 4:13 This statement seems innocent enough, however there is no mention of the Lord. He is completely out of the picture. We need to realize that all of our plans are tentative. None of us know what the future holds. Life is a "mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." (vs14) James continues: "you ought to say, If it is the Lord's will we will live and do this or that." (vs15) We are totally dependant on God for life itself to say nothing of our plans. We are arrogant, self sufficient, and boastful when we leave God out of our plans every plan we make should include the phrase God willing To fail to recognize God in our plans is sin.

You are so right! We tend to forget that He wants to have a say so in everything in our lives, not just things related to church.

    God Bless You! emoticon
